The Kanmon Bridge is a suspension bridge crossing the Kanmon Straits, a stretch of water separating two of Japan’s four main Islands. The bridge is connecting Honshu side of Shimonoseki and Kyushu side of Kitakyushu. The total length of the bridge is 1068 meters and the height of it is 141 meters. The bridge opened up in November 14, 1973. It is among 50 largest suspension bridges in the world. The only way to drive over the bridge is using the highway or you can also take the Kanmon Tunnel to get to Kitakyushu.
