Located in Ono about a 20-minute drive north of Iwakuni is Torinosuke, a ramen chain famous for their chicken-stock broth ramen. Torinosuke is easily visible along Route 2 – you can’t miss their large yellow signs on the right hand side of the road as you come from Iwakuni. They have a variety of ramen options ranging from chicken-stock broth to fish-stock broth and the more common pork-based ramen. Also available is a light salt-based ramen and also a tsukemen options (dipping noodles). They offer a variety of fried rice and gyoza sets. Once you order, you can go ahead and head to the self-serve appetizer booth where you can stock up on pickled vegetables to snack on while you wait for your order.

There is plenty of parking available around the restaurant. The place is usually packed around noon and also in the evening around 7 especially on the weekends. Head over to Torinosuke for a strong bowl of ramen if you’re ever driving up north towards Miyajima.
